TLU Experience: When I first started school at TLU, it was ok. I loved being away from home and living on my own. After a couple of days though, I began to get homesick. I was used to having the best home cooked meals, seeing my friends and so on. I soon realized that everything change when I came to live in the city of Seguin. I was used to the bigger city of McAllen and also the weather. After a couple of months, I began to fit in the lifestyle of TLU. I met a bunch of new friends from playing football and got used to the weather. The best experience so far I having the opportunity to getting to know my teachers. I say this because they can help me out whenever I need help on a homework assignment. I like the atmosphere of a small school and know everyone and I know my experience will get better and better.
City of Seguin: The community of Seguin was established in 1838 by members of Mathew Caldwell's Gonzales Rangers, but was not incorporated until 1853. It was originally called Walnut Springs for the nearby fresh water sources. Just six months later the name was changed to honor Colonel Juan N. Seguin, one of Sam Houston's ablest Lieutenants throughout the struggle for Texas' independence. As leader of a dedicated group of Texans of Mexican ancestry, Col. Seguin participated in the great victory at San Jacinto. Later he served as a Republic of Texas Senator and as Mayor of San Antonio.
Travel: When I was younger, my family and I used to travel all the time. Since I have been really busy with football and school, I have not had time to travel in about 3 years. I always used to go camping with my family. We went to places like Colorado, Arizona and Big Ben national park. I hope in the near future I can travel with my family. I plan on traveling all around the world, to see peoples different cultures and life styles.
Food: I love food. When it comes down to my favorite, it’s Mexican food. Mexican food is by far the best food I have ever eaten in my life. The Mexican tradition of food is very strong and that why I like it so much.
Faith: My family and I really believe in faith. We go to church every Sunday to pray for god and thank him for our families. Without faith, I do not know how I would get through some tough times in my life. I don’t let rough time in my life slow me down because I know God is there to comfort me whenever I need him.
