TLU Experience
Right now, I have had a very successful experience when it comes to TLU. Everyone is friendly and help is always not far away. The campus is very nice, well organized, and my classes are never to hard to find. One main thing I like about TLU is the smaller classes. My largest class the two semesters I have been here has not been more than 35. With the small classes, I feel like the teacher actually cares about whether I show up or not. The individual attention has certainly helped me get better grades than I would in larger classes at larger universities.
The city of Seguin has every feeling of a home town of Texas. Although there is nothing really to do besides the movies, Seguin is conveniently placed 30 minutes from San Antonio and New Branfuels, and 45 minutes from Austin. Many college students are also pleased with the large number of fast food restaurants in the city. With restaurants like Whataburger, Sonic, Dairy Queen, McDonalds, and CiCi's, there is always a late night diner open for conquering. I also enjoy the small town feel. There are never traffic jams like there are in larger cities.
Although I have been to many places, I have always wanted to travel around the world and see different countries and the landscapes that are different on this world. As for within the country, I have been to Colorado to visit relatives about five or six times in my lifetime. Along with Colorado, I have been to Wyoming, South Dakota, Kansas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Arizona: all on just road trips with my family. On choir trips, I have been to New York, Florida, South Padre Island, California, England, and Paris. The most recent trip has been with my close family to London for Christmas break. While I was there I saw Wimbledon, Chelsea football stadium, and an original exhibit of Star Wars items from all of the movies.
I am not very picky at all about food, but if I had to pick a favorite it would have to be Italian food. I could eat all of the dishes ever associated with Italy and its cooking. I also enjoy eating Chinese, Mexican, and French food. I am not too fond of British food and I am sure it is because the food there is considered an acquired taste. I prefer not to eat spicy foods or many vegetables, unless they are grilled. Any type of homade cooking I will gladly eat. Other than that, I just like to eat good food of any kind. As for drinks, I enjoy a good smoothie, slushy, or anything like that. Shakes and malts are also a favorite of mine whenever I am at Sonic, Dairy Queen, Whataburger, or Fudruckers.
This aspect of my life has been both steady and unpredictable. I have gone to First United Methodist Church of Killeen every Sunday I was at home since I was in first grade. Being in the same environment for so long enabled me to become extremely comfortable whenever I was in church. Because of this, I have not been as close to my religious views as I should be. When I came to TLU, it gave me a chance to examine myself and how I think I should be living and believing. Although I have come closer to this goal, I will most likely not reach it until later in life or here at TLU.
