Houston Dynamo - The Houston Dynamo formed about 2 years ago. In their first 2 years they have won the Major League Soccer Cup twice, back to back. They are my favorite MLS team because they are from Houston where I am from as well. So it makes sense that I would support the team from the city I am from. Hopefully they will continue to improve from their amazing start and win another Major League Soccer title.
Newcastle United- Ever since I was a little kid, my favorite Team English club team has been Newcastle United. Even today my family is still unsure of why they are my favorite team when I have no family there at all. The first reason and really the main reason is because my favorite Player of all time played for Newcastle. His name, Alan Shearer, he is listed below on this page. Newcastle is not a top notch team, but they are not at the bottom of their table. They can be a threat when they have their act together. But as of recently they are undergoing management problems along with injury problems as well.
Coca Cola Championship League Team
Preston North End FC- My family has fun little bets on who will do good in each of the English leagues. We drew names out of a hat and Preston North End FC is the team I chose. In recent years they have been fairly consistent with being at the top of their league and almost advanced to the English Premier League. But unfortunately this year they are struggling to win games.
Southend United- Like Preston North End FC, I had chosen Southend United as my team. I have followed them throughout the years while they have been in the lower English leagues. But this year they are doing well and will hopefully advance to the next league above them.
MK Dons- I have followed MK Dons since I was in middle school. They are one of my favorite lower level teams in England. Over the past couple of years they have not done so well and sit at the lowest English League. But this year they are currently first in their league and will hopefully advancing towards the top. I can only hope because they are one of my many favorite teams.
Alan Shearer- Goal Scoring Legend. This right here is my favorite player of all times. He played for the England National squad as well as Newcastle United. He has one of the records for the most goals in a career. He was not like current strikers today in soccer. He did not have the greatest foot skills or tricks to show off to other players or the crowd. His main concern was to score goals, and he did it any way he possibly could. Unfortunately he is retired now because of old age, but will always be my favorite player of all time.
Michael Owen- Natural Striker, He is my second favorite soccer player of all time. He was only in his late teens when he played in the world cup for England and scored against Argentina. He has played for many clubs around the world but mainly in England. He is a talented striker as well as all around player. He has fought back from severe knee injuries and is working his way back to top form.
Banana Pudding
Chicken Alfredo
Anything that A.1 Sauce can be added
If someone were to make me chicken Alfredo, with a steak and A.1 sauce and then Banana Pudding for desert. I would die and go to heaven and my stomach would be happy. Those are my favorite foods even though A.1 is not a food. Each one is delicious in its own way. I'm not sure what exactly got me hooked on Banana Pudding or Chicken Alfredo or even A.1 sauce. I guess I just tried it one day and the taste was too good to forget.
My Dad's side of the family is from England. So any chance I get to visit there, I go. England is unlike any other place that I have visited, and I would recommend going there to visit for anyone who has not gone yet. To me England is just a relaxing place but at the same time there are plenty of places to go for anyone of any age. If you like the country side, there are plenty of paths and hill sides and country sides to go walking through and go on a picnic. If your more of a city person, downtown London or any city will have more of what you are looking for. And probably the best part about it is, almost everywhere in England is reachable in a day by train or car.
My Texas Lutheran Experience has been largely based on my experiences with the TLU soccer team. From the first day arriving at Texas Lutheran I have been involved with soccer team almost everyday in one way or another. I have made some very close knit friends from the soccer team, that I will probably have for a very long time. The soccer team in itself is a great support group. They are almost like my family away from home. We all stick together and we work well together, most of the time. But my TLU experience wouldn't be what it is now if it were not for the soccer team.
I quickly found out that if there is one thing that people go do when they are bored or need something in Seguin, it is go to Wal-Mart. Even if you are not looking to buy anything people still go there just to go there. Some go just to hang out and look around at stuff once they get money. Some go there to goof around and play hide-n-seek throughout the store. And some just go there because sometimes its hard to think of what else to do.
I hold my faith very close to me. Since my mother is a pastor I have had an extra dose of religion and faith and what I believe in. But what I have also learned in my faith is that everyone has their own beliefs. I don't hold anyone against their belief as long as they do not hold me to mine. I am a proud E.L.C.A. Lutheran and I am proud and stand strong in what I Believe. But I know not everyone believes the same things I do, or feels the same way I do about certain subjects, and I do not try and persuade you that what you believe is wrong.
